Completed in 2006, Drake Circus Shopping Centre (425,000 sq ft) is a key destination retail facility located at the heart of Plymouth City Centre in the South West.

The project brief included concrete repairs to car park decks, ramps and replacement and repairs to structural bearing joints.

Working closely with the structural engineers, temporary works designers and locally based specialists A&A Concrete Repairs Ltd, Faircloth delivered this project with zero disruption to business for Drake Circus and its retailers.

Out of hours working and adopting innovative solutions at site level helped to overcome some complex construction challenges. As a result, Drake Circus traded as normal throughout the duration of the site works, including the busy 2023 Christmas period, with no loss of capacity.

Managing expectations with clear communication and co-operation, from the start, were key to delivering this project to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
