When it was established in the UK in 1994, Lidl was considered a small business but today the supermarket chain has nearly 600 stores in the UK and is one of the biggest retailers in the world – it’s actually the fifth largest retailer globally.

Lidl is known by 97% of UK customers and more than 50% of the people who live in the UK shop in Aldi and Lidl at Christmas, so you can imagine how meticulous the global retailer is when it comes to choosing partners to construct a new store to add to its impressive national and international tally.

In Altrincham Retail Park, that particular honour was bestowed upon Faircloth Construction who were asked to downsize a Homebase Garden Centre unit to provide space for the new Altrincham Lidl superstore. Work on the new unit is progressing well and due for completion in October 2023.
